Jalen Green scored 31 points and Devin Booker added 26 as the Phoenix Suns routed the Utah Jazz 134-109 on Saturday, March 28 at the Mortgage Matchup Center.
Grayson Allen contributed 19 points, Oso Ighodaro added 13, and Khaman Maluach recorded 12 points with nine rebounds, helping Phoenix snap a six-loss stretch.
The Suns built a 37-17 lead in the first quarter with a 21-2 run, and Green had 11 points, including three of Phoenix’s eight three-pointers in the period.
Phoenix led 73-45 at halftime, its largest lead of the season, as Green scored 20 points in the first half.
Utah was paced by Brice Sensabaugh and Kyle Filipowski, who scored 26 points each, while Svi Mykhailuk added 14 and Ace Bailey scored all 13 of his points in the second half.
Kennedy Chandler finished with 11 points and eight assists, but the Jazz committed 10 turnovers and had only 10 assists in the first half.
Both teams were affected by injuries, with Utah missing Lauri Markkanen, Isaiah Collier, Keyonte George, Walker Kessler, and Jaren Jackson. Phoenix’s Dillon Brooks and Mark Williams are recovering from hand and foot injuries, respectively.
Neither Green nor Booker played in the fourth quarter as the Suns cruised to the win, shooting 50% from the field and 32% from three-point range. Utah converted 47% of its shots but made only 10 three-pointers on 23 attempts.
The victory moves Phoenix to 41-33, just 3.5 games behind Houston for the sixth seed in the Western Conference, while Utah falls to 21-54, extending its losing streak to five and its road skid to seven.
The Suns will visit Memphis on Monday night, and the Jazz will host Cleveland the same evening.
