Devin Booker delivered a season-high 47 points, and Grayson Allen hit a game-tying buzzer-beater to help the Phoenix Suns (26-25) secure a 135-127 overtime victory against the Utah Jazz (12-38) on Friday night.
Allen drained a 3-pointer with 0.9 seconds left in regulation to force overtime after Utah had taken a four-point lead with 4.7 seconds remaining. He opened the extra period with another three, igniting an 8-0 Phoenix run that ended their three-game skid.
John Collins led the Jazz with 21 points, while Lauri Markkanen contributed 20. Utah appeared to be in control late, erasing a 13-point deficit in the final minutes before Allen’s late heroics shifted the momentum.
Playing without Kevin Durant (ankle) and Bradley Beal (toe), the Suns leaned on Booker, who shot 18-of-33 from the field and logged 49 minutes. Allen finished with 21 points, connecting on seven 3-pointers.
Phoenix trailed 120-116 with seconds remaining before Allen’s deep shooting salvaged the night. His first clutch three cut the deficit to one, and following free throws from Utah, he buried another to force the extra session.
The Jazz had outscored Phoenix 13-0 to tie the game earlier in the fourth, setting up a dramatic finish that ultimately slipped away. Walker Kessler dominated the glass with 22 rebounds, while rookie Isaiah Collier had 15 points and 13 assists.
Bol Bol added 12 points off the bench for Phoenix, including a 3-pointer that tied the game at halftime. Tyus Jones contributed 16 points and six assists, while Mason Plumlee provided key defensive minutes late.
The Suns shot 39.3% from beyond the arc, while Utah struggled at 27.1%. Phoenix also won the rebounding battle 49-47 despite Kessler’s dominance inside.
The victory could provide momentum for the Suns as they await the arrival of newly acquired Cody Martin and Vasilije Micic. Meanwhile, the Jazz suffered their 12th loss in 13 games.
