The Chicago Bulls have officially shut down Jaden Ivey for the remainder of the 2025/26 season due to ongoing left knee pain.
Ivey, who was acquired from the Detroit Pistons at the trade deadline, played just four games for Chicago before being sidelined.
While there had been some hope he might return, the team has decided he will continue rehab and won’t play again this spring.
His situation creates uncertainty heading into the offseason.
The Bulls must decide whether to extend a qualifying offer worth $8.77 million, which would make him a restricted free agent, and then determine if a longer-term deal makes sense.
Health will be the key factor. Chicago will want a clear understanding of his knee before committing, especially given his recent injury history.
Ivey showed strong potential in 2024/25 but hasn’t looked like his usual explosive self this season, averaging 8.5 points in a reduced role.
He admitted last month he didn’t feel like “the same player I used to be.”
