The Chicago Bulls will also be without Jalen Smith for the rest of the 2025/26 season due to a lingering right calf injury.

Smith has already missed seven of the team’s last 14 games since late February because of the issue.

The situation worsened during Wednesday’s loss to the Philadelphia 76ers, when he aggravated the injury, prompting the team to shut him down for the final two and a half weeks of the season to allow for full recovery.

Unlike Jaden Ivey’s situation, Smith’s injury is not believed to be a long-term concern.

He remains under contract for next season, set to earn $9.43 million in the final year of the three-year, $27 million deal he signed with Chicago during the 2024 offseason.

In his absence, the Bulls are expected to rely more heavily on frontcourt options such as Nick Richards and Guerschon Yabusele, who should see increased minutes down the stretch.

Meanwhile, Chicago’s guard rotation remains deep, with players like Josh Giddey, Tre Jones, Collin Sexton, and Rob Dillingham continuing to handle regular roles.
