The Los Angeles Lakers and Detroit Pistons enter Monday’s matchup at Little Caesars Arena with several key players listed as questionable or out, according to the official NBA injury report.
Los Angeles has Rui Hachimura (right calf soreness) and Maxi Kleber (lumbar back strain) listed as questionable.
Detroit faces a heavier absence list, including star point guard Cade Cunningham (left lung pneumothorax) and frontcourt anchor Isaiah Stewart (left calf strain). Marcus Sasser (right hip strain), along with G League assignments Isaac Jones, Bobi Klintman, and Wendell Moore Jr., are also out.
The Lakers have won their last two games, including a narrow 105-104 victory over the Magic on March 21 and a 134-126 win at Miami on March 19.
Their success has been driven by Luka Doncic, who is averaging 33.4 points, 8.4 assists, and 7.9 rebounds per game this season. Austin Reaves adds 23.5 points per contest while LeBron James continues to contribute 21.1 points and 5.8 rebounds per game at age 41.
Detroit also arrives on a two-game winning streak, defeating the Warriors 115-101 and the Wizards 117-95.
With Cade Cunningham sidelined, Jalen Duren and Tobias Harris are expected to shoulder a larger offensive load. Duren is averaging 19.2 points and 10.5 rebounds, while Harris adds 13.1 points per game. Duncan Robinson contributes 11.9 points per outing, complementing Ausar Thompson’s 10 points per contest.
This season, Detroit leads the series against Los Angeles 1-0 after a 128-106 win on December 30 in Los Angeles. The Pistons have secured the top seed in the Eastern Conference with a 51-19 record, while the Lakers are positioned fourth in the West at 46-25.
