The Sacramento Kings have decided to keep guard Killian Hayes around, agreeing to a two-year contract after he recently finished two separate 10 Day contracts with the team.

During his short stretch with Sacramento, Hayes appeared in 10 games and averaged 3.8 points, 2.0 rebounds, and 3.3 assists while playing 15.3 minutes per contest.

The 6-foot-4 point guard earned positive feedback from Kings head coach Doug Christie, who highlighted Hayes’ defensive effort and the way he stays ready to contribute whenever called upon.

Hayes originally entered the league as the seventh overall selection in the 2020 NBA Draft, when the Detroit Pistons picked him. He spent four seasons in Detroit before moving on.

Last season, Hayes had a brief stint with the Brooklyn Nets while also playing in the G League with the Long Island Nets.

Earlier this season, the sixth-year guard was playing in the G League with the Cleveland Charge before Sacramento brought him up, eventually leading to the two 10 Day contracts and now a longer deal with the Kings.
