Dwight Howard contacted police after claiming his wife, Amber Howard, left their home with several of his personal valuables, including jewelry, his wedding ring and his phone.
In newly released 911 audio obtained by TMZ, Howard can be heard telling the dispatcher about what he described as a theft at his Georgia mansion. During the call, he said a “female” had left the property with the items and drove away “in a gray Camaro.”
Howard explained to the dispatcher that he was not currently at the house because he had left to pick up his child. The operator told him that an officer would contact him so he could move forward with filing a report.
The reported incident occurred on March 7, just two days before Howard filed for divorce.
Shortly afterward, Amber posted on Instagram and made several accusations about Howard, including a claim that Child Protective Services had taken his daughter. However, there has been no confirmation of that allegation.
The situation suggests that tensions between Dwight and Amber had already escalated before the divorce paperwork was officially filed.
