Dwight Howard filed for divorce Monday, but TMZ has learned his estranged wife, Amber Howard, went to court the same day to do the same.
Sources told TMZ that Amber was preparing to file with her attorney, though Dwight’s paperwork was processed first. Despite both seeking divorce, the couple is still reportedly living together in their Georgia home for now.
Dwight spent the weekend in California with his son, David, while Amber remained in Atlanta.
This was not their first attempt to end the marriage. Amber filed for divorce last year, but they later reconciled and withdrew the case. Sources say this time the separation is final.
TMZ previously reported that Dwight called the marriage “irretrievably broken” in his filing and requested exclusive use of the Georgia mansion.
Gwinnett County Police were also dispatched to the home three times in the past two weeks, including for a suicide threat, a domestic incident, and a theft report.
The filing came days after Amber posted a series of serious allegations about Dwight on Instagram.
