The Portland Trail Blazers waived Javonte Cooke, who had been playing on a two-way contract with the team.

Cooke, 26, spent the entire 2025/26 season in Portland.

The 6-foot-6 shooting guard saw limited action at the NBA level, appearing in 19 games and averaging 1.2 points and 1.0 rebounds in 4.9 minutes per contest.

Although his role with the Blazers was minimal, Cooke delivered strong performances in the G League with the Rip City Remix.

In 15 games for the Remix, where he averaged 33.1 minutes, Cooke posted 22.7 points, 5.6 rebounds, 3.1 assists, 1.9 steals and 0.9 blocks per game while shooting .458 from the field, .358 from three-point range and .750 at the free-throw line.

Cooke went undrafted in 2022 after playing at three different Division II programs.

In the three seasons prior to 2025/26, he primarily competed in the NBA G League, and he also spent time in 2024 with the Brampton Honey Badgers of the Canadian Elite Basketball League.

Portland had already opened one two-way roster spot, and Cooke’s release will create a second vacancy.

One of those openings is expected to be filled by former Thunder guard Chris Youngblood, according to reports.
