The Minnesota Timberwolves may have to play without starting center Rudy Gobert when they host the Philadelphia 76ers on Sunday, as the veteran big man is facing a potential suspension due to accumulated flagrant foul points.

Gobert was assessed a Flagrant 1 foul during Friday’s game against the Dallas Mavericks.

The play was initially ruled a common foul during live action but was later upgraded to a Flagrant 1 following an official review.

If the decision is upheld after the league completes its postgame evaluation, it would result in Gobert serving his second suspension of the season tied to flagrant foul point accumulation.

After reaching that disciplinary threshold, any additional flagrant fouls this season would carry harsher consequences, with Gobert subject to a two-game suspension moving forward.

The league’s flagrant foul point totals are reset once the postseason begins, clearing prior accumulations at the start of the playoffs.
