The New Orleans Pelicans have officially converted Bryce McGowens’ two-way contract into a standard NBA deal, the team announced in a press release.
Earlier, ESPN’s Shams Charania reported that McGowens and New Orleans agreed to a new three-year contract, according to agents Kyle McAlarney and Mark Bartelstein.
The 23-year-old wing has averaged 7.9 points, 1.9 rebounds, and 1.5 assists in 19.9 minutes per game this season, making 11 starts while shooting an efficient 48.0% from the field and 45.3% from three-point range.
Before joining the Pelicans on a two-way deal last summer, McGowens appeared in 118 NBA games for the Hornets and Trail Blazers from 2022–25, averaging 4.8 points and 1.7 rebounds in 14.4 minutes per game.
The 6-foot-6 shooting guard was the 40th overall pick in the 2022 draft out of Nebraska.
Although he still had eligibility remaining on his two-way contract, New Orleans opted to promote him early using an open roster spot.
While full contract details are not yet known, the three-year structure suggests the Pelicans will use part of their mid-level exception to finalize the deal.
The move opens a two-way roster spot alongside Trey Alexander and Hunter Dickinson.
