Bryce McGowens has quietly emerged as one of New Orleans’ better under-the-radar developments since arriving on a two-way deal this offseason.

After showing flashes earlier in his career with Charlotte, the fourth-year guard is using this opportunity to rebuild his footing in the league, and the Pelicans have rewarded that effort with steady playing time rather than spot appearances.

McGowens has embraced the role and the environment, crediting the organization for giving him both trust and clarity.

“I’m super blessed to be in this position of being in an organization that believes and trusts and puts me in situations,” he said.

“It feels good. I work hard. The coaches know me. My job is to get after it and do whatever the team needs me to do so we can win.”

McGowens has played 4 seasons for the Hornets, Pelicans and Trail Blazers. He has averaged 5.2 points in 135 regular-season games.
