Giannis Antetokounmpo went through an on-court workout about 90 minutes before the Milwaukee Bucks played the Chicago Bulls on Tuesday at Fiserv Forum.
The two-time MVP remains out indefinitely with a calf strain and is not expected to play before Thursday’s trade deadline.
Antetokounmpo’s session lasted a little more than 30 minutes and included light shooting with limited movement, stationary passing drills, and controlled dribbling with assistant coach Vin Baker.
He also completed lane slides on the defensive end while being monitored by the Bucks’ training staff.
Antetokounmpo has been sidelined since being listed with a right calf strain following Milwaukee’s January 23 loss to the Denver Nuggets.
Bucks head coach Doc Rivers provided a lighter update during his pregame media availability, revealing that Giannis and his brothers, Thanasis and Alex, will coach one of the teams in the Celebrity All-Star Game during All-Star Weekend in Los Angeles.
Asked if he offered any coaching advice, Rivers joked about the ongoing trade rumors.
“He did inform that he’s going to put Shams (Charania) on the trading block and then he’s just going to listen to offers,” Rivers said with a smile.
Multiple teams continue to pursue Antetokounmpo, and Milwaukee has been listening to offers, though it remains uncertain whether a trade will occur before the deadline.
