The Denver Nuggets received an unfortunate update Friday night in Milwaukee, as Aaron Gordon re-aggravated his right hamstring strain and was ruled out for the second half, the team announced on social media.

The setback came as Gordon was playing both ends of a back-to-back for just the second time since originally straining the hamstring in November, an injury that sidelined him for six weeks.

“I feel good. Better than I’ve felt in a long time,” the player said following Thursday’s win in Washington, according to Bennett Durando of The Denver Post.

Despite that optimism, Gordon appeared to tweak the hamstring again in the final minute of the second quarter, as shown in video shared by DNVR Sports.

He finished the night with 13 points, six rebounds, three assists and two steals in 16 minutes before being shut down.

Gordon was one of the few regulars available for Denver, as several other key contributors were held out of Friday’s game.

Jamal Murray was sidelined with right hamstring and left hip inflammation, Peyton Watson missed the contest due to ankle sprains in both legs, and Jonas Valanciunas sat out after returning Thursday from a right calf strain that had cost him just over three weeks.
