The Denver Nuggets power forward Aaron Gordon said he was unhappy with his performance in his first game back Friday.

He added that he’s grateful to be playing again and feels physically strong after missing extended time with a right hamstring strain, according to Bennett Durando of The Denver Post.

The injury troubles have sidelined Gordon for 36 games overall this season.

He initially hurt the hamstring on November 21, briefly returned for a 10-game stretch, and then suffered another setback when he reaggravated the issue on January 23, which forced him to miss 17 consecutive contests.

When discussing the possibility of the injury recurring, Gordon stressed the importance of being careful but not letting fear affect his play.

“I’ve gotta stay on top of it. But I play without worry,” the player said when asked about the risk of re-injury.

“When you’re worried about an injury out there, that’s usually when it happens. So I feel great. My body feels good. It’s just the timing and the pace of the game that needs to come back to me now, but I feel good.”
