Max Christie has moved from being viewed as a complementary piece to someone the Dallas Mavericks now see as a fixture in their future, according to Christian Clark of The Athletic.
Internally, the belief is that Christie has earned trust through consistency, versatility, and steady growth on both ends of the floor.
Christie has started 29 of Dallas’ first 38 games and is delivering the most productive season of his career.
He’s averaging 12.3 points per night while knocking down 44.1 percent of his shots from three-point range, all while routinely drawing difficult perimeter defensive assignments.
Coaches have valued his willingness to guard top scorers, even when it comes at the expense of his own rhythm.
His contract only adds to his appeal.
Christie is making $7.7 million this season and just under $8.3 million next year, with a player option for the 2027–28 campaign, giving Dallas cost certainty during a critical window.
