The Charlotte Hornets are close to welcoming back a much-needed piece in their frontcourt, with Grant Williams listed as probable to make his season debut Saturday against the Chicago Bulls.

His return would mark the end of a long rehabilitation process after suffering a torn ACL in late November of 2024.

Charlotte has been thin up front for much of the season, making Williams’ availability especially timely.

Miles Bridges has been the team’s lone consistent option at power forward, while injuries have sidelined both rookie center Ryan Kalkbrenner and veteran backup Mason Plumlee in recent games.

Adding Williams back into the mix would give the Hornets much-needed flexibility and stability across the frontcourt rotation.

Since arriving in Charlotte at the 2024 trade deadline, Williams has delivered the most reliable stretch of production of his five-year career.

Across 45 games with the Hornets, he has averaged 12.6 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 2.9 assists per contest, numbers that reflect both his expanded role and increased comfort within the team’s system.
