Roderick Boone of The Charlotte Observer writes that Grant Williams spent time this week giving out Christmas gifts to employees of the Charlotte Hornets, offering a positive presence around the team even as his return timeline remains uncertain.
The veteran forward is still rehabbing from the right ACL tear he suffered early last season and wasn’t able to pinpoint when he might be cleared to play again.
Williams explained that his focus is on coming back the right way rather than rushing the process.
“It’s all about making sure that I come back to build this team up to compete and win,” he said.
While he noted that he feels good physically, he emphasized the importance of adhering to the recovery plan in place and being patient regarding the eventual return date.
Williams added that whenever that moment arrives, he expects to be fully ready to give everything he has to the roster and the organization.
He made it clear that he’s committed to helping turn things around and values being part of that effort in Charlotte, saying he wouldn’t want to take that journey anywhere else.
