Miami Heat guard Norman Powell spoke highly of the impact Jaime Jaquez Jr. has made off the bench so far this season after Monday’s 147-123 home win vs. the Denver Nuggets (20 points/3 rebounds/11 assists/zero turnovers/8-11 FG/1-2 3-PT/3-6 FT/+23 +/-).

*set career-high in assists*

*averaging 16.4 PPG/5.4 RPG/4.8 APG/0.8 SPG/0.2 BPG/52.6% FG/56.6% 2-PT/27.3% 3-PT/75.9% FT/29.7 MPG through 32 games played*

(via Miami Heat):

“Huge impact, what he’s able to do: putting pressure on the rim, getting into the paint, collapsing defenses, taking on mismatches, getting in there, getting into his mid-post, his jump hooks, his turnaround fades. But then, also defensively: the big body battling bigger size guys than him and putting his nose in there and putting his imprint on that way. He should definitely be in the category for Sixth Man of the Year. He’s been doing a great job all year and putting his imprint on the game and helping us win close games or helping us open up some games with his play style and the force of his downhill attacks that he comes with every single night.”
