Denver Nuggets head coach David Adelman was fined $35,000 by the NBA for directing inappropriate language at officials and failing to leave the court promptly after his ejection, the league announced on Sunday. The incident occurred with 8:40 remaining in the fourth quarter of Denver’s 115-101 overtime loss to the Houston Rockets on December 20 at Ball Arena.
The ejection came after Adelman received his second technical foul of the game, marking a rare disciplinary action for the Nuggets bench.
Denver, currently 20-7 and tied for second in the Western Conference behind the San Antonio Spurs, saw Nikola Jokic continue his dominant season with averages of 29.4 points, 12.1 rebounds, and 10.7 assists per game. Jamal Murray is contributing 24.8 points and 6.7 assists per game, while Aaron Gordon adds 18.8 points and 5.9 rebounds.
The Nuggets have been among the highest-scoring teams in the league, averaging 124.7 points per game while allowing 116.1, reflecting a high-powered offense led by Jokic.
Despite the loss to Houston, Denver maintains one of the best records in the West, just behind Oklahoma City (25-3) and tied with San Antonio (20-7).
