The Charlotte Hornets visit the Detroit Pistons on Saturday, December 20, for a 7:30 PM ET tipoff at Little Caesars Arena. Charlotte comes in on a two-game winning streak, while Detroit is looking to bounce back after a one-game skid.

The Hornets face several injury concerns, including Grant Williams (right knee surgery), Collin Sexton (left quadriceps, doubtful), and Pat Connaughton (right calf, questionable). Tre Mann is probable to play despite a right knee bone bruise, and G League players Liam McNeeley, Drew Peterson, and Antonio Reeves remain sidelined.

Detroit also navigates injuries, with Caris LeVert questionable (right knee soreness) and Duncan Robinson probable (left knee contusion). G League assignments have sidelined Isaac Jones, Bobi Klintman, and Chaz Lanier, while Wendell Moore Jr. and Tolu Smith are out as two-way players.

Charlotte relies on Miles Bridges (21.1 PPG, 6.2 RPG, 3.7 APG) and LaMelo Ball (19.9 PPG, 8.8 APG) to lead an offense bolstered by Kon Knueppel (19.4 PPG, 5.4 RPG). Brandon Miller adds 18.2 points per game, providing additional scoring depth in the backcourt.

Detroit counters with Cade Cunningham (27.2 PPG, 9.2 APG, 6.2 RPG) and Jalen Duren (18.0 PPG, 11.0 RPG) as primary contributors. Tobias Harris (13.4 PPG) and Duncan Robinson (11.9 PPG, 2.8 3PM) offer perimeter and mid-range scoring, while Ausar Thompson contributes 11.4 points and 5.8 rebounds per contest.

Both teams have not met this season, making Saturday’s game a pivotal first matchup.
