Zach LaVine’s return to the lineup was brief and frustrating for Sacramento.

After sitting out Thursday’s game against Denver with a thumb injury, the Kings guard was back on the floor Sunday in Minnesota but lasted only 16 minutes before hurting his left ankle and being forced to leave the game.

According to Jason Anderson, the injury occurred in the second quarter.

LaVine later attempted to test it during halftime warmups, briefly coming back onto the court, but he was clearly limited and soon limped back to the locker room.

Not long after, the team ruled him out for the remainder of the contest.

With LaVine already dealing with multiple minor injuries, the latest setback adds uncertainty to his availability going forward.

For now, there’s no clear indication whether the ankle issue will keep him sidelined beyond Sunday, leaving the Kings waiting for further evaluation.
