The Suns are taking a cautious, long-term approach with Jalen Green as he works his way back from a right hamstring strain that flared up early in the season.
Green re-aggravated the injury just two games into the year, and Phoenix has resisted any urge to rush him back, prioritizing his health over short-term gains.
Head coach Jordan Ott acknowledged that the team is intentionally erring on the side of caution, stressing the player’s importance to the organization.
“We’ve got to be in the mindset that this is a young athlete that is super valuable,” Ott said, according to Duane Rankin.
He added that the process is being handled incrementally, noting, “We’re going to take it day-by-day, week-by-week, but he has made really, really good progress.”
Green has played 5 seasons for the Rockets and Suns. He has averaged 20.1 points, 4.3 rebounds and 3.3 assists in 309 regular-season games.
