The Charlotte Hornets announced that Moussa Diabate had been downgraded to out for Sunday’s game against the Denver Nuggets due to right knee soreness.

His absence added to an already extensive injury list for Charlotte, which also included LaMelo Ball, Pat Connaughton, Josh Green, Tre Mann, Collin Sexton, and Grant Williams.

With so many players sidelined, the team has been forced to navigate a demanding stretch with limited depth.

Rod Boone of the Charlotte Observer notes that the Hornets may be more eager than any team in the league for their upcoming five-day break.

After playing seven games in just 12 days while shorthanded, the physical and mental strain has clearly mounted.

Brandon Miller expressed the team’s mindset heading into the pause, saying, “Just use the five days and just focus on the right things. Just come back with the mindset of just dominating and then we’ll be fine with that.”
