The Golden State Warriors dominated the Chicago Bulls 123-91 on Sunday at the United Center, marking their second consecutive win without Stephen Curry and Draymond Green. Quinten Post praised the team’s defensive cohesion and shared confidence in the roster’s depth.
“Seeing the ball go in definitely feels good,” Post said, reflecting on his 19-point performance and the team’s strong offensive execution. He credited Golden State’s defensive adjustments for holding the Bulls under 100 points for the third straight game.
“We do a good job of getting teams out of their early offense… you can be on a string and help each other out,” Post said, highlighting the Warriors’ energy and communication on both ends of the floor. The team limited Chicago to 36% shooting and out-rebounded them 51-38.
Post emphasized the value of experience gained during this stretch without key players. “It just gave some guys an opportunity… having Steph back will be huge for us,” he noted, referencing Curry’s expected return and Jimmy Butler’s first game back from a left knee injury.
De’Anthony Melton’s defensive presence also earned Post’s praise. “You can tell he’s finding his rhythm… he’s a great player and he’ll definitely help us out,” he said, noting Melton’s key steal and assist in the third quarter.
The Warriors’ offensive balance was evident, with seven players connecting from deep. Brandin Podziemski led the bench with 21 points, Buddy Hield added nine, and Jimmy Butler scored 19, showcasing the team’s ability to thrive without its stars.
Golden State built a 16-point lead early and extended it to 24 in the second half before cruising to the final score. The Bulls, missing four key contributors, could not mount a comeback despite an early fourth-quarter 17-1 run. Josh Giddey led Chicago with 18 points, while Matas Buzelis added 16.
Post stressed the importance of rest and preparation as the team heads into a lighter schedule. “It’ll be great to get everybody healthy, look at the tape, and just get everybody in line with the flow we have right now,” he said.
The Warriors aim to continue their momentum when they host the Minnesota Timberwolves on Friday, while Chicago looks to snap its seven-game losing streak against the Charlotte Hornets.
