The Golden State Warriors defeated the Portland Trail Blazers 129-123 on Wednesday at Chase Center. Quinten Post scored 20 points off the bench to lead the hosts to a 2-0 preseason record.
Portland built a 39-25 lead after the first quarter behind Shaedon Sharpe’s 22 points. The Blazers shot 41.7% from the field overall.
Golden State responded with 32 points in the second to trail 73-57 at halftime. Stephen Curry tallied 11 points in 16 minutes before resting. The four-time NBA champion dished three assists alongside his scoring.
Damian Lillard sat out for Portland as he continues his Achilles rehab.
The third quarter tightened as both teams scored 21 points apiece. Draymond Green added nine points and two assists in 16 minutes.
Buddy Hield contributed 13 points, including three three-pointers, for the Warriors. Toumani Camara scored 14 points with four three-pointers for the visitors.
Portland extended the lead to 97-78 midway through the fourth on a dunk by Kris Murray. Murray finished with 12 points.
Golden State’s bench erupted late, outscoring Portland 51-26 in the period. Post drained four three-pointers in 25 minutes.
The Warriors scored 42 points in the paint and outran the Blazers 21-11 in fast breaks. Golden State grabbed 44 rebounds to Portland’s 60.
Portland connected on 33.3% of threes and forced 19 turnovers. The Blazers committed 18 themselves.
Post added four rebounds and two assists. Sharpe grabbed six boards for Portland.
Hield pulled down four rebounds. Deni Avdija tallied 14 points and eight rebounds in 20 minutes.
Moses Moody scored 10 points with four rebounds. Jerami Grant added eight points in 21 minutes for the Blazers.
The Warriors converted 26 of 34 free throws at 76.5%. Portland went 21 of 33 at 63.6%.
