The Golden State Warriors beat the Chicago Bulls in their second win streak without Stephen Curry and Draymond Green, while extending the Bulls’ losing skid to seven, 123-91, on Sunday.
Warriors guard Brandin Podziemski dropped 21 points off the bench, and Jimmy Butler added 19 in his return to the lineup. Quinten Post also scored 19 points.
After missing two games due to a left knee injury, Butler started, but Golden State remained without Curry, Green, and Al Horford, who head coach Steve Kerr expects to return on Friday against the Wolves.
Golden State shot 22 of 47 from beyond the arc with seven players connecting from long range as Post and Poziemski each hit five 3s.
On the other hand, the Bulls have lost seven games in a row, their longest skid since an eight-game streak in the 2019-20 season.
Chicago guard Josh Giddey contributed 18 points, and Matas Buzelis added 16 for the Bulls, who shot 36% from the field and were out-rebounded 51-38.
The Warriors held an opponent to under 100 points for a third straight game and limited Chicago to its fewest points in a game this season.
Buddy Hield and Post each hit a three-pointer in the first 90 seconds, and Golden State led by as many as 16 before taking a 60-46 advantage into the intermission.
The Warriors grew their lead to 24 points in the second half, but the Bulls used a 17-1 run to narrow their deficit to 87-79 early in the fourth.
The Bulls played without their four key players, including Kevin Huerter, Tre Jones, Isaac Okoro, and Jalen Smith.
Meanwhile, Curry is expected to resume practice as soon as Wednesday as he comes back from a left quadriceps contusion and muscle strain.
Golden State aims to extend its win streak into three when it faces the Wolves on Friday, while Chicago looks forward to ending their slump against the Hornets.
