Anfernee Simons: I don’t have that much time to ease into games

Here’s Boston Celtics guard Anfernee Simons on what’s been working for him off the bench these last two games (averaging 23.0 PPG/4.0 RPG/3.0 APG/1.0 SPG/66.7% FG/85.7% 2-PT/46.2% 3-PT/100% FT/27.5 MPG).

Bobby Manning: “Joe [Mazzulla] was saying he felt like you were easing into things the first few games here, and now it feels like you’re kinda in a good place. What was the turning point you feel like, if there was one for you, in terms of getting comfortable and just being yourself?”

Simons: “Oh yeah. I think, just honestly, just keeping it simple. In previous years, that was kinda my thing was just ease into the game and see how they guarded me, and then (I) kinda started to be more aggressive in the second half. And so here, obviously I don’t have that much time to be able to ease into the games. And so, just taking the opportunities that’s there, just being myself, aggressive, and also making the right plays as well. So, I think simplifying in that way has been easy for me the past couple games.”
