Staring elimination in the face, Valencia were in need of a miracle to avoid a 3-0 whitewash by Real Madrid, especially given that when the two teams met in this arena in the regular season, Sergio Llull pulled off the full-court Hail Mary to give Real the win.

But this time, Mary, and luck were on Valencia’s side as Guillem Vives went down court faked Andres Nocioni and buried the off-balance basket to hand his side a thrilling 87-86 overtime win against Real Madrid.

Vives finished with 12 points and seven assists. Vladimir Lucic led Valencia with 18 points. Rudy Fernandez hit six three-pointers to pace Real with 22.

The win keeps Valencia alive in the series but they still trail 2-1.
