It’s a fourth straight Copa del Rey for Real Madrid.

The Liga Endesa league leaders claimed its 27th Copa del Rey with a narrow 97-95 win over Valencia in the title game in Vitoria on Sunday.

A heavily contested lay-up in transition by Sergio Llull with 2:20 remaining handed Real a 92-85 lead that looked to put the game away for good, however Valencia fought back to the very end setting a grandstand finish with just under a second left.

But Valencia were unable to get a decent shot up as the time wound down, allowing Madrid to celebrate.

Llull was named MVP for the second straight year, leading the way with 22 points, Anthony Randolph scored 20 for the winners.

“The team deserved to win, we made a very serious game and in the end we have been able to play the final moments and we are very happy,” said Llull.

“I personally do not like losing anything, I have the confidence of the coach and my teammates and I like to take responsibility. In those key moments I will never hide and I am happy to have contributed and have managed to win this Copa del Rey ”

Bojan Dubjlevic led all scorers for Valencia with 28 points with Fernando San Emeterio adding 17.
