Kevin Huerter appears to have found a comfortable and meaningful role with the Chicago Bulls, embracing both the team’s playing style and its competitive mindset.
After joining Chicago, the veteran guard has quickly become an important part of the rotation, contributing consistent scoring and steady playmaking off the bench.
“The energy since I’ve gotten here hasn’t been, ‘Hey, we’re looking to take a step back.’ It’s been, ‘We’re going to retool and keep going,’” Huerter told reporters. “I want to be in an organization that wants to do that, and we as players all have a piece in that.”
Huerter’s words reflect his appreciation for the Bulls’ approach – one focused on competing rather than rebuilding – and his desire to remain part of that vision long-term.
He added, “I love the way we play here. It’s a fun brand and good energy to be a part of, and I feel like I’ll have a piece in that success and I’ll have a piece in the failure if it goes that way at this point.”
Now in his eighth NBA season, Huerter has provided valuable production off the bench, averaging 13.1 points, 4.0 rebounds, and 2.9 assists in 25.1 minutes per game.
His efficient shooting and versatility have helped stabilize Chicago’s second unit, while his leadership and team-first mentality have quickly made him a respected presence in the locker room.
