Luka Doncic, who has scored 92 points in the first two games of the season, is listed as questionable for tonight’s matchup against the Sacramento Kings due to a left finger sprain. The Lakers already face significant absences, with LeBron James sidelined for right sciatica and Maxi Kleber out with an abdominal strain.
Jaxson Hayes is also questionable with left knee soreness, while Adou Thiero remains out recovering from left knee surgery. Despite the injuries, the Lakers have shown offensive firepower, led by Doncic’s 43- and 49-point performances in their first two games.
Tonight’s game at the Golden 1 Center presents a challenge for Los Angeles, as the Kings are missing Keegan Murray (left thumb UCL) and Nique Clifford (right hamstring). Zach LaVine is listed as questionable due to illness.
Doncic has carried much of the Lakers’ early scoring load, averaging 46 points, 8.5 assists, and 11.5 rebounds per game through two contests. Austin Reaves has also contributed, posting a double-double in the recent win over Minnesota.
Head coach JJ Redick will need to manage minutes carefully if Doncic does play, as Los Angeles looks to maintain consistency amid a thin roster. Deandre Ayton and Rui Hachimura remain key contributors alongside Reaves, Marcus Smart.
For the Kings, Domantas Sabonis and DeMar DeRozan will anchor the frontcourt, while LaVine’s status will affect the backcourt rotation. Doug Christie’s team is coming off a 1–1 start, including a close 105–104 win over Utah.
