Luka Doncic is taking his motivation after being traded by his former Dallas Mavericks, as he went through the offseason working on his body transformation.

Even his former coach Jason Kidd has observed his progress during the preseason game against them, most notably in physical strength and conditioning.

“I think it’s great what Luka has done this summer with his body,” Kidd said. “His game has gotten better … We respect what he’s done with his body. We wish him the best of luck.”

Most analysts and fans allegedly created the assumption that the reason Doncic was traded is due to his conditioning, which compromises the team’s defensive scheme.

For Kidd, it was all about competition professionally; he admired what the former Rookie of the Year had done to improve, and noted that Dallas would not back down on beating him.

“He’s on the other side,” Kidd added. “He’s gonna try to kick our butt and we’re gonna try to kick his butt. That’s just being competitors. But what he’s done this summer, give him credit. He’s working to be the best. When we play him four times, we’re gonna try our best to slow him down.”

Doncic did not play in tonight’s game against the Mavericks, as they fell short with a score of 121-94. However, he is 2-0 against his former team after exploding for 45 points to help the Lakers get a playoff spot last April 9.
