The Charlotte Hornets (2-2) delivered a commanding performance against the Memphis Grizzlies (0-4) in Wednesday’s preseason clash at First Horizon Coliseum in Greensboro, North Carolina. Charlotte cruised to a 145-116 victory, highlighting both their offensive depth and defensive pressure.

Charlotte jumped out to an early lead, outscoring Memphis 37-30 in the first quarter. The Hornets maintained momentum throughout the game, with a dominant third quarter where they scored 45 points compared to the Grizzlies’ 28.

Brandon Miller led Charlotte with 21 points, contributing six assists and three steals in 30 minutes. Miles Bridges added 29 points, 10 rebounds, and five assists, showcasing the Hornets’ offensive depth. LaMelo Ball posted 23 points and eight assists before exiting in the second half. Rookie Ryan Kalkbrenner recorded 7 points and seven rebounds, while Moussa Diabate contributed 18 points and 13 rebounds off the bench.

Memphis struggled offensively despite Jaren Jackson Jr.’s 17 points and 12 rebounds. Javon Small scored 18 points, and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope added 15 points and eight assists. However, the Grizzlies’ bench production was limited, with several key players logging minimal impact.

Memphis shot 42.7% from the field and 43.3% from three-point range, compared to Charlotte’s 51.0% shooting and 40.0% from beyond the arc.

The Hornets’ fast-paced offense generated 56 bench points, more than double Memphis’ 26, highlighting Charlotte’s depth advantage. Turnovers were equal at 15 for each team, but Charlotte capitalized on transition opportunities, converting 58 fast-break points.

Several players were absent or limited for Memphis, including John Konchar, Vince Williams Jr., and Cam Spencer. Charlotte’s roster appeared more cohesive, with bench contributions from Collin Sexton, Pat Connaughton, and DJ Rodman adding scoring versatility.
