The Golden State Warriors have agreed to a four-year contract with second-round pick Will Richard.
The deal, signed via the second-round pick exception, guarantees the first two seasons and includes a team option for year four.
Richard, a 6’4” guard, played a key role in Florida’s 2025 national championship run, starting 40 games and averaging 13.3 points, 4.6 rebounds, 1.9 assists, and 1.6 steals.
Golden State selected him with the 56th pick in June’s draft.
Richard will make just under $1.3 million this season, with his salary counting fully toward the luxury tax and apron.
His addition follows commitments from Al Horford, De’Anthony Melton, and Gary Payton II, bringing the roster to 14 players – 13 on standard deals and one two-way.
However, the Warriors are expected to delay signings for Richard and the veterans until restricted free agent Jonathan Kuminga’s situation is resolved.
Kuminga has until October 1 to sign his qualifying offer, though extensions or a sign-and-trade remain possible.
