Dallas Mavericks star Kyrie Irving is reportedly ahead of schedule in his recovery from ACL surgery, sources told DallasHoopsJournal. The nine-time All-Star continues to show promising signs for the 2025–26 season.
Irving suffered a torn left ACL on March 3 against the Sacramento Kings, an injury that immediately ended his season and raised concerns about his availability next year. Despite the setback, he has remained optimistic throughout rehabilitation.
Earlier this week, Irving gave an update to TMZ Sports while walking in New York City, saying his recovery is “going incredibly well.” He reassured fans that he is steadily progressing in his rehabilitation.
This follows an August Instagram Live session where Irving marked the five-month milestone in his ACL recovery. At that time, he noted “incremental growth” in basketball activities and gradually increasing workouts.
Before the injury, Irving averaged 24.7 points, 4.6 assists, and 4.8 rebounds across 50 games. His performance earned him a ninth career All-Star selection as an injury replacement, highlighting his continued impact on the court.
Over the summer, Irving reaffirmed his commitment to the Mavericks by signing a three-year contract. The team views him as a cornerstone for the roster, which has undergone significant changes since Luka Doncic’s trade to the Los Angeles Lakers.
Irving’s career includes a 2016 NBA championship with Cleveland, 96 playoff appearances, and career averages of 23.7 points, 5.6 assists, and 4.1 rebounds per game. His shooting efficiency remains elite, with 47.4 percent from the field and 39.4 percent from three-point range.
