The Charlotte Hornets have made a roster adjustment, bringing in free agent forward DJ Rodman while parting ways with guard Marcus Garrett, according to an official announcement.

Rodman, son of Hall of Famer Dennis Rodman and brother of soccer star Trinity Rodman, has been working to carve out his own basketball path.

After going undrafted out of USC in 2024, he split time in the G League between the Capital City Go-Go and the Maine Celtics.

He also appeared for Charlotte’s Summer League team, which seems to have opened the door for this latest opportunity.

The 24-year-old forward spent five seasons in college, first with Washington State and later with USC.

Across 143 games, he averaged 6.1 points, 4.2 rebounds, and just over one assist per contest, while shooting 41.1% from the field, 35.4% from three, and 76.4% from the free-throw line.

Standing at 6’6”, he brings a versatile wing presence and a reputation for hustle and toughness, traits that echo his father’s playing style.

Contract terms haven’t been disclosed, though the signing is expected to be an Exhibit 10 training camp deal.

These short-term agreements allow players to compete for a roster spot during camp and, if waived, transition into the G League.

Rodman would then be eligible for a bonus of up to $85,300 if he spends at least 60 days with Charlotte’s affiliate, the Greensboro Swarm.

Garrett, who had also been on an Exhibit 10 deal, is expected to receive the same G League pathway if he stays with Greensboro.

At the moment, Charlotte’s three two-way contract slots are already filled, but Exhibit 10 signings can sometimes be converted if opportunities arise during the season.
