The Detroit Pistons have added Quincy Olivari to their roster, according to Michael Scotto of HoopsHype.
Olivari, who went undrafted in the 2024 NBA Draft, spent last season with the Los Angeles Lakers on a two-way contract. He appeared in two NBA games, averaging 1.5 points in limited minutes.
The 24-year-old guard made a bigger impact in the G League, where he posted 17.5 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 4.6 assists per game across 31 contests for South Bay. His three-point shooting sat at 34 percent on high volume.
Olivari also competed in the 2025 NBA Summer League with the Brooklyn Nets, where he averaged 16.7 points and 3.3 rebounds over three games. Despite struggling with his perimeter shot, he drew attention with his scoring efficiency at the free-throw line and playmaking flashes.
For Detroit, the move continues a busy offseason as they prepare for the 2025–26 campaign. The Pistons are coming off a 44–38 finish, their first winning record since 2016. They also snapped a 15-game playoff losing streak before falling to the New York Knicks in the first round.
The Pistons have focused on building around Cade Cunningham, Jalen Duren, and Ausar Thompson while adding veterans like Caris LeVert. The addition of Olivari gives them another perimeter option with upside on a developmental track.
Detroit also drafted Tennessee guard Chaz Lanier with the 37th pick in the 2025 NBA Draft. Olivari now joins a guard rotation that includes Cunningham, Lanier, Marcus Sasser, and the injured Jaden Ivey.
