According to Ian Begley of SNY.tv, the New York Knicks got encouraging performances from a pair of veteran free agents during informal scrimmages held on Monday.

Dennis Smith Jr. and Alex Len both made strong impressions, showcasing their value as the team continues to evaluate options for training camp invitations.

Begley added that Trey Jemison is still a name firmly on the Knicks’ radar as they weigh their decisions on how to fill out the camp roster.

Alongside those considerations, the team was also looking into the possibility of bringing back sharpshooter Matt Ryan.

That interest quickly materialized into an agreement, as earlier reports confirmed that Ryan and the Knicks reached a deal this morning.

With camp spots being finalized, the Knicks appear to be balancing veteran experience with younger options while keeping shooting depth and frontcourt reinforcement in mind.
