Luka Doncic and Slovenia not only advanced past Italy in the EuroBasket 2025 Round of 16 with his dazzling 42-point explosion, but the performance also carved out another chapter in his growing legend.

Already the owner of one of the rare triple-doubles in EuroBasket history earlier in the tournament, Doncic once again elevated himself into the record books.

With this game, he climbed into third place on the All-Time EuroBasket scoring list per average, surpassing the late, great Drazen Petrovic.

The numbers speak loudly. Doncic now averages 23.4 points per game across 22 EuroBasket appearances, edging past Petrovic’s 23.2 in 26 outings.

The only names above him are iconic Hall of Famers: Greece’s Nikos Galis, whose remarkable 31.2 points per game across 33 contests remains untouched, and Yugoslavian sharpshooter Radivoj Korac, who averaged 24.8 points in 34 games.

The updated ranking highlights Doncic’s place among legends of the sport:

Nikos Galis – Greece – 31.2 PPG (33 games)
Radivoj Korac – Yugoslavia – 24.8 PPG (34 games)
Luka Doncic – Slovenia – 23.4 PPG (22 games)
Drazen Petrovic – Yugoslavia – 23.2 PPG (26 games)
Dennis Schroder – Germany – 22.1 PPG (25 games)

Doncic’s latest milestone places him firmly in company reserved only for the game’s greatest scorers.
