Milwaukee Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo was sidelined for Greece’s EuroBasket 2025 group stage matchup against Bosnia and Herzegovina on Tuesday due to a sore knee, according to Harris Stavrou of SPORT24.

Stavrou reported that Greek head coach Vassilis Spanoulis downplayed concerns, indicating that the two-time NBA MVP should be ready to suit up on Thursday when Greece takes on Spain.

That game carries major implications – a Greek victory would put Spain at serious risk of missing out on the Round of 16.

Spain, meanwhile, is being led by Memphis Grizzlies forward Santi Aldama and veteran forward Juancho Hernangomez, who has spent parts of seven seasons in the NBA before continuing his career in Europe.
