Bradley Beal told KMOV’s Tamar Sher that winning a title was the main driver behind his move to the Los Angeles Clippers. Beal signed a two-year, $11 million deal with a player option for 2026–27 on July 18, and said bluntly, “I need a ring.”
The veteran guard described a “new life of rejuvenation” and a renewed hunger to compete at the highest level. He framed the Clippers move as more than money, calling the new environment “hungry” and emphasizing his desire to win.
Beal also explained why he handed Chris Paul the No. 3 jersey, calling it a “no-brainer” out of respect and a longstanding personal relationship. He noted Paul’s mentorship history and hinted that sharing the floor with a respected veteran mattered more than a number.
Off the court, Beal stressed the joy he finds coaching and mentoring youth, citing his role with Bradley Beal Elite and back-to-back Peach Jam championships. He praised the development of local talent, saying those kids handle pressure and adversity in ways that make them “college ready, pro ready.”
Beal credited families and upbringing for the maturity he’s observed in young players, and said coaching gives him “joy and passion.” He also reflected on his own work ethic, urging youngsters to outwork everyone and stay confident in their path to the NBA.
