USA Basketball revealed its 12-man roster and coaching team for the 2025 FIBA Men’s AmeriCup. The tournament runs from August 22 to 31 in Managua, Nicaragua.

The squad features NBA, G League, and international pros, including eight players with prior USA Basketball experience. The roster includes Zach Auguste, Robert Baker II, Tyler Cavanaugh, Jack Cooley, Jarell Eddie, Langston Galloway, Jerian Grant, Elijah Pemberton, Jahmi’us Ramsey, Cam Reynolds, Javonte Smart, and Speedy Smith.

Three players—Baker II, Ramsey, and Smart—participated in the 2025 FIBA AmeriCup Qualifiers. Ramsey played in all six games across three windows, while Smart earned gold with the 2016 U16 and 2017 U17 USA Men’s National Teams.

Cavanaugh, Galloway, Pemberton, and Reynolds have previously appeared in World Cup Qualifying games. Galloway took part in all 12 games during the 2021-23 qualifying cycle. Pemberton was on the 2022 AmeriCup team that won bronze in Brazil, and Reynolds trained with the USA Men’s Select Team ahead of the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

Auguste, Cooley, Eddie, Grant, and Smith will make their USA Basketball debuts.

Stephen Silas, former NBA head coach, will lead the team. He will be assisted by Brad Jones and Patrick Mutombo, both experienced NBA assistant coaches and former G League head coaches. Mahmoud Abdelfattah joins as assistant coach and scout. Silas and Abdelfattah helped lead USA to a 4-0 record in the final two qualifying windows.

Training camp is set for August 12-18 in Miami before the team heads to Managua. The USA opens against the Bahamas on August 23 at 5:40 p.m. ET. Other group stage games include matchups against Uruguay on August 24 at 11:10 p.m. ET and Brazil on August 26 at 9:10 p.m. ET.

The AmeriCup, held every four years, dates back to 1980 and has been biennial since 1993. The United States has won seven gold medals and earned bronze in 2022.

This year, 12 teams are divided into three groups of four. The top two teams from each group, plus the two best third-place teams, advance to the quarterfinals. Teams will be seeded 1 through 8 for the knockout stage based on group phase results.

The USA’s potential knockout stage opponents include strong teams like Panama, Venezuela, the Dominican Republic, Argentina, and host nation Nicaragua. The quarterfinals begin August 28, with seeding based on group play performance.
