Duane Rankin of The Arizona Republic reports that while there is clear mutual interest between the Phoenix Suns and Jonathan Kuminga, the likelihood of a trade occurring between Phoenix and the Golden State Warriors appears very slim at this stage.
Rankin explains that Kuminga, a 6-foot-7 forward, sees the Suns as an attractive destination where he could secure a significant and stable role on the team, particularly playing alongside established All-Star Devin Booker.
The Suns have even engaged in discussions with Booker’s agent, Aaron Turner, signaling their intent to build a strong core around their star player.
However, despite these promising conversations, the Warriors have yet to show any willingness to accept the kind of trade package that Phoenix has proposed.
This lack of interest from Golden State suggests that, for now, any potential deal involving Kuminga moving to the Suns remains a long shot, and the status quo is likely to persist as the offseason progresses.
