Markieff Morris has broken his silence following the arrest of his twin brother, Marcus Morris Sr., who was taken into custody in Florida on a fraud charge.

In a tweet posted shortly after the news surfaced, Markieff criticized how the incident was handled by authorities and questioned the narrative being portrayed.

“The wording is crazy. Damn for that amount of money they’ll embarrass you in the airport with your family,” he wrote, suggesting the arrest occurred publicly and in front of loved ones.

Marcus Morris, 35, was arrested Sunday in Broward County, according to court records. TMZ was first to report the incident, which also included a mug shot released by officials showing a stoic expression from the veteran forward.

“They got y’all really thinking bro did some fraud sh-t,” Markieff continued. “They could have came to the crib for all that.”

Authorities have not yet provided details regarding the nature of the alleged fraud, leaving the charge—and its context—unclear as of Monday.

Markieff’s tweet implied the case may not be as it appears publicly, urging followers to wait for Marcus’ side of the story: “When y’all hear the real story on this shit man. All I can say is Lesson learned. Bro will tell y’all tomorrow.”

He concluded the post by expressing frustration and defiance: “This weird sh-t gave me a headache. Can’t stop nothin!”

Marcus Morris, a 13-year NBA veteran, last played during the 2023–24 season, splitting time between the Cleveland Cavaliers and Philadelphia 76ers. He has averaged 12.0 points and 4.4 rebounds across 832 career games.

The Kansas alum has had prior legal encounters, including a 2012 battery charge that ended in a diversion program and a 2015 case where he was acquitted of assault.
