Charlotte Hornets rookie forward Liam McNeeley has signed a multi-year endorsement deal with Nike, NBA footwear insider Nick DePaula reported Friday. The agreement highlights McNeeley’s rising profile after an impressive start to his professional career.
McNeeley, drafted 29th overall by the Phoenix Suns last month, was traded to Charlotte just days later in a deal that sent center Mark Williams to Phoenix. Since then, the UConn product has stood out as one of the top performers at NBA Summer League in Las Vegas.
According to ESPN, McNeeley was named one of the “best three rookies at Summer League” after averaging 18.0 points, 8.5 rebounds, and 4.0 assists across two games. His shooting from beyond the arc, at 42.9 percent, and his free-throw accuracy, at 88.9 percent, have drawn attention from scouts and fans alike.
At UConn, McNeeley showcased his scoring and rebounding ability, averaging 14.5 points and 6.0 rebounds per game while starting 26 of 27 contests during the 2024–25 college season. His consistency and work ethic helped propel him into the first round of the draft.
The endorsement with Nike places McNeeley among the latest group of young players to align with the global sportswear giant. His marketability has been enhanced by his strong on-court performances and his early recognition in Summer League play.
