Jeff Peterson: We had Liam McNeeley ranked really high during pre-draft

Here’s Charlotte Hornets President of Basketball Operations Jeff Peterson on trading Mark Williams and a 2029 second-round pick for 2025 #29 selection Liam McNeeley and a 2029 first-rounder (also got back Vasilije Micic, but he was traded soon after to the Milwaukee Bucks for Pat Connaughton and two future second-round picks).

“We felt like it was a very good deal for us, and we were able still to with that pick — able to draft Liam, who quite frankly, we were very surprised that he was still on the board at that point because we had him ranked really high. So yeah, it worked out.”
