Cleveland Cavaliers forward Dean Wade has attracted interest from several playoff-contending teams, who view his $6.6 million salary as a cost-effective way to add valuable frontcourt depth.

With the Cavaliers currently navigating second luxury tax apron restrictions, there is growing speculation that they may face challenges in bringing Wade back this offseason.

Wade is known for his defensive versatility, capable of guarding multiple positions across the frontcourt.

Standing 6-foot-9, the combo forward has also developed into a reliable shooter, boasting a career three-point shooting percentage of 37%, making him a legitimate threat from beyond the arc.

The Cavaliers are currently operating nearly $20 million over the second apron this season and are expected to remain in a similar financial position heading into next year.

This salary cap situation could complicate efforts to re-sign Wade when he hits unrestricted free agency, as retaining him could prove to be a costly decision for Cleveland’s front office.
