The Phoenix Suns are scheduled to play the Los Angeles Lakers twice during the 2025 NBA preseason, according to a report by Duane Rankin of the Arizona Republic. The two exhibition games will offer early looks at both retooled rosters ahead of the regular season.

The first matchup will take place on October 3 in the Palm Springs area of California. This game continues a recent trend, as Phoenix and Los Angeles have met at Acrisure Arena in Palm Desert for the past two preseasons, with the Lakers as the designated home team.

The second contest is set for October 17 at PHX Arena in downtown Phoenix. This game marks the Suns’ only home preseason meeting with the Lakers this year and follows last year’s pattern, when the teams also played twice in October, splitting the venues between California and Arizona.

The Suns, now under new head coach Jordan Ott, enter the 2025–26 season looking to rebound after missing the playoffs last year. Phoenix made major offseason moves, including trading Kevin Durant in a multi-team deal and adding Jalen Green, Dillon Brooks, and rookie Khaman Maluach.

The Lakers, led by head coach JJ Redick, also reshaped their roster with the acquisitions of Deandre Ayton and Jake LaRavia.
