Detroit Pistons guard Malik Beasley remains under federal investigation for alleged gambling violations, and new details suggest another Pistons player could also be implicated. The developments surfaced during an episode of Pablo Torre Finds Out, which added context to the ongoing probe that began weeks ago.

On the podcast, Torre revealed, via HoopsHype, he spoke to a source close to Beasley’s current and former teammates who responded bluntly when asked about the gambling allegations: “He’s a dumbass. I believe everything.” While that quote alone does not prove wrongdoing, it reflects how some around the league perceive the situation.

Beasley, 28, is reportedly under investigation by the U.S. District Attorney’s office for betting on NBA games and prop bets during the 2023–24 season. His attorney, Steve Haney, told ESPN last month that Beasley has not been charged and is presumed innocent under the law.

Adding to the intrigue, Torre highlighted tweets from the account Freemoose_NBA, which hinted at Beasley’s involvement days before the story broke publicly. The same account also suggested another Pistons player, unnamed so far, may face scrutiny next.

The anonymous tweets referenced three players — Jontay Porter, Terry Rozier, and “M****** B*****,” which many interpreted as Malik Beasley — and implied a fourth, currently on Detroit’s roster, could also appear in the investigation. Torre noted that Freemoose_NBA is allegedly a relative of Ammar Awawdeh, a figure already tied to the Jontay Porter gambling case.

Beasley, who just completed a career year with Detroit averaging 16.3 points and shooting 41.6% from three over all 82 games, was negotiating a new three-year, $42 million deal with the team before talks reportedly paused due to the investigation.

Detroit finished sixth in the Eastern Conference and Beasley was instrumental in their playoff push, contributing 14.0 points per game in the postseason. Now, his free agency and future in the league hang in the balance as the investigation continues.
